The long silence

No posts from me for a while (and consequently, no readers!) because the disk drive on my laptop decided to abandon ship. Backups? We don’t need no stinkin’ backups!

So everything on there is gone (have you looked at the prices for data recovery from a broken disk drive? Thousands of dollars!). The only really valuable thing on there were the pictures that my girlfriend and I had taken over the last year together. I will miss those. But I suppose we have a lifetime to make up for that, so it’s not too great a tragedy. And we have the memories and those can’t be erased (barring, you know, Alzheimer’s!).

So I’m back on the job, back on the bullhorn. God save us all.

A star is born

Well, perhaps that’s overstating the matter. In fact, I’m sure it is. There are blogs and then there are blogs. Mine will be just one of many, no more or less important than any other. It may, however, at times contain wit and searing, irrefutable logic that even the firmest of rocks will not be able to stand against. But mostly, it will just be me, blathering on about what I think.

Pity the poor fools who dare peruse.
