Thought she did extremely well. Better than I would’ve imagined with her recent flubs in the media interviews she’s given. Looks like the McCain campaign is finally letting Sarah be Sarah. Let’s hope that continues.
I don’t want to get tied up in analysis (I’ll leave that for later tonight when I do a more comprehensive review of the debate), but I thought her opening words to Biden before the debate started “Can I call you ‘Joe’” were completely disarming and gave me a lot of confidence that she would do well. Besides Biden’s obligatory “Bridge to Nowhere” line, she was the only one who got laughs out of the audience and her smile was shining straight through the camera. Contrast that with Biden’s alternately grim-faced/shark-toothed smile and I think you had a very refreshing contrast in the Republicans favor.
And what an interesting fact that, with Palin being only the second woman to run for VP, it was the man who was on stage who had “gone under the knife” and gotten some work done. Nice eyes, Joe!
Like I said, a more thorough analysis tonight, where I’ll go through the entire debate and score it like a boxing match!
